It is my opinion that a sock puppet can be your best friend. No really, It don't talk back, doesn't have a litter box or have to go out. It won't file for divorce or ask for money. Will never willingly tear up the furniture. the only one who has to know about it is you. That's why they are all over my floor....

Hans, You're giving away our best secrets! Next you'll let them all know about stopping at the Parrot on the way back to the boat!

Rick, if you go out of Port Everglades, make a run straight out for about three miles. Troll like the webmaster says although I personally(and by popular demand)wouldn't troll naked, as the sun gets pretty intense here. Head north until your directly off Sunrise Blvd. and the make a fast troll towards the land. As you hit the beach, exit the boat and run up to the nearest food store where you will find an abundance of Mahi Mahi for about $8.00 lb. Return to the boat and troll in. Best of luck!

Look for schoolies, usually, where there are schoolies thereare bigger dolphin. We use a variety of baits. Bigger dolphin hit biggerrigs. Here are a few of our favorites:Troll a large (horse) ballyhoo with a skirt or some teaser in front of it.Troll a Ilander (black and red, or blue and white) with or without aballyhoo.Troll a split tail mullet (naked) on a downrigger.Troll a Ilander with split tail or a ballyhoo on a downrigger.Dolphin buster, Dolphin Jr., Dolphin Sr.Troll a squid with a flat line in the prop wash. You want to look for any action or objects in the water. Dolphin love tohide under debris. Any kind of bird action is a good possibility for them.A frigate bird down low near the water is a good sign. Also, look forboards or weeds. Keep your eyes open, we've caught a fair number of bigdolphin after seeing them and the pulling up and casting some cut bait atthem.Good luck and catch 'em up!

All - I'm coming down to Pompano Beach with some buddies the first week in August and want to do some fishing, "Mahi Fishing" specifically. Any pointers on good fishing spots in Broward County, how far off shore, type of bait, typical lb. test line you all use, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks..

I chipped my teeth on the frozen fish! I felt so stupid! Then I hit myself in the head with a hammer. I was sooo embarrased! Just for curiosity's sake, I jammed my hand down the toilet and kept flushing till the house flooded! Mud on my face! I hope there is some government agency that can help us dweebs. I hate to be accountable for my own actions. I'll never buy your fish again either. Also, I kidnapped the Lindberg kid right after escaping from Alcatraz where I shared a bunk with Alice Cooper who used to be Eddie Haskel on "Lead Me to Beaver" or something like that....Mahi-Mahi is getting interesting, eh gang?

You have to tell me where you got directions to "Frozen Fillett at 425 for 10 mins". Nothing frozen cooks for 10 mins or less unless you microwave it.

I purchased one of your Mahi-Mahi (2.75 lbs) and had dinner guests:followed your directions to cook "Frozen Fillett at 425 for 10 mins. We had to wait 45 mins. Everything else was done:NO FISH! You should change your directions. It was so embrassing. I'll never buy your fish again!!

Better than you....Your right we didn't have a scale for the Fish of the day for 5/19...it was just a guess on the weight... we appreciate you bringing that to our attention....maybe you can send us a picture of the blue gill you caught in the lake over the summer and we can post it for you....

That nice 30+ pounder for the fish of the day for may 19 if you were to put it on a scale would have read more like 20 pounds chief. That fish is tiny.

OK, Jeff. I'll bring the $10.00 over, but I'm gonna drink your beer. Question: Who do you think will make out in this situation? As for the earlier comment someone posted about eating bottle nose dolphin - DELICIOUS! Tastes just like manatee....

DOLPHIN / MAHI MAHIWorld Record: 87lbs, Papagallo Gulf,Costa Rica, 1976. Known as the "bulldolphin", common to three feet andknown to reach 6 feet in length. Fishare commonly found under floatingobjects. The larger the object, themore likely there will be a school ofdolphin below it. Often harvested underheavy grass lines in the gulf. Bulldolphin are often difficult to coax onthe hook, but as long as one memberof the school is on the line, it is fareasier to lure another. Bull dolphinsare one of the finer food fishes. Thefish is very white and mild, ideal forbroiling.

You really should check with a local bait and tackel shop for information on fishing for Mahi-Mahi in your area.Every area is really different. Here is South Florida you can catch them within a mile or two of shore. In the keys we usually go 15-25 miles out.In the Gulf you probably will have to go out pretty far, but check with someone local. Anyone out there have information on Gulf fishing.

My friend was convinced that the mahi-mahi I made for dinner last night was our friendly bottle-nose dolphin. My quick search on the internet only seemed to confirm his belief. I wish I had found your site yesterday.!!IT is wonderful - and I love the pics! I emailed several of them to my friend to show as proof that the delicious dinner was not a mammal. Is this a dolphin fish? versus the dolphins that are mammals? Why the confusion with the names?? HELP!

Hello, I'm very interested in taking up this sport of fishing Mahi Mahi. I have some information on sort of how to catch them, but don't know how far to go out. I live in the Clearwater area and by the look of your picutures, you don't go out very far from your location in Ft. Lauderdale. Anything you can help me on to catch my first Mahi Mahi would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
